An efficient solution to obtain viable seed by sorting seed while reducing redundancy (extra pots). That was what AgResearch was looking for. Our Laboratory Seed Blower Ø 100 mm was the answer!
Agriculture is one of New Zealand’s largest export income earners. AgResearch from Lincoln, New Zealand plays a key role in delivering new knowledge and technologies to support the sector. Their focus areas of research are in creating smart, sustainable farming systems, and the most sought-after food and bio-products.
Better cleaning solution
AgResearch does a lot of experiments with seeds. That is why they were looking for a better solution to clean a wide range of weed seeds. The Ø 100 mm Laboratory Seed Blower, CAM-4000, allows them to blow off the empty seeds, husks and trash and collect the good, clean seeds.
This process is considerably more efficient than the hand winnowing they did in the past. Being able to see the process allows them to select the correct airflow to separate waste from good clean seeds for a wide range of seed volumes.

“For our science, having the ability to efficiently sort seed to obtain viable seed reduced the redundancy (extra pots) that we had to include in experiments.”
