Drum Priming is well suited for the controlled hydration to a predetermined water content of the seed. Seeds such as carrots or sugar beet are therefore pre-germinated in rotating drums, with the aim of faster and uniform seed emergence. With this fully automated system, drums are filled with water and seeds, and placed in and out of a climate-controlled chamber using robotisation. High capacities can be easily achieved by expanding the number of drum positions.
